I Held Your Hand Today

Turbulent days for me are now. There are no additional sounds, no live sight of you, and no touch from you. Today as I got into our truck, the truck you drove 1,239 miles all the way from Billings, Montana, I said hello to you and we had a conversation.

I moved my arm and held out my hand, and I held your hand today. And I felt comfort that you were there. I rested my arm on the cushioned surface, and placed my hand in the same position I always did while driving.

I could hear you comment on my thoughts, I could see your smile, I could feel your warm hand. You were with me and I was comforted. You comforted me, as you always did, as you always have, and again you reassured me that everything would be ok.

Stay with me please. Be here for me. Let me know that you will always be here, with me when I need you, like now.

That’s how I felt, when I held your hand today.
