If I don’t look, is it still really there? If I don’t think about it, does it really exist or did it still really happen? I know my imagination is real but the only thing real about it is the act of. Object Permanence: Understanding that objects continue to exist even when they cannot be observed.
I can think, I can imagine, and I can create but that too is limited to the practical constraints of reality. Objects. I can create objects. My ability to imagine allows me to do that. However imagination itself has limits in the ability to express an idea.
I have often dreamt about you Irene, and the time seems real. We have conversed with one another in a time-space continuum that are my thoughts.
And yes, in waking hours you are always on my mind. But you’re not here, at least in a physical presence and I miss that.
Though we may hold on to the idea of our loved ones even after they are gone, object permanence does not apply to people. I am learning the true meaning of memories and all that they hold, and they make me feel good.
