That Means Yes

Throughout our time together anytime either me or you would ask a question or a favor, whenever the response was a definitive Nope, that always meant yes.

I loved that because the exchange was always one backed with, and filled with love. There was always a sneaky/sly smile behind the nope and we both knew the opposite was actually being granted. From a simple request such as “Can you help me lift this over here” and whichever one of us being asked said nope, the other person would usually make a sound that I cannot spell in a word. It was like ‘waaa!’, but without the ‘w’. That very similar scenario just came to be and I don’t know when or how it started. The request however was already being fulfilled with us arriving to help and wearing a caring smile.

I loved the look in your eyes when you were the one who said nope. Amongst your very wide grin was your beautiful set of teeth. You always had a smile that sparkled, I can see it now. Your height poised you shorter than me so your upward smiling glance was always so cute. I always knew when you were happy and living comfortably, your big smile was with clenched teeth…you with your ‘moon eyes’.

Have I told you how beautiful you are today?…and we end in a heartfelt embrace and a kiss.
